Why Employ A Certified Specialist?

The State Bar Of Arizona provides certifications in several areas of practice, including Injury & Wrongful Death Litigation. In order to become certified as a Specialist in this area by the State Bar of Arizona, a lawyer must meet the following criteria:

Additionally, peer review is conducted and a written examination must be passed.

A lawyer seeking initial certification as a specialist in Injury & Wrongful Death Litigation must pass a full-day exam focused on issues involving tort law and be deemed proficient in trial practice as evidenced by substantial litigation experience. Completion of jury trials is the cornerstone of this latter requirement. Continuing Legal Education relating to the specific practice area is required on an annual basis. Recertification is required at 5 year intervals.

As of June 1, 2010, only 196 lawyers of the approximately 19,000 lawyers licensed to practice law in Arizona are certified as specialists in Injury & Wrongful Death Litigation. Timothy J. Kamper has been certified as a Specialist in Injury & Wrongful Death Litigation since 1992, and he has won numerous jury trials in Maricopa County.
